These handlebar grips are Schwinn Approved. These days we'd call it cruiser retro kitsch or something, but it looks to me like another mark of the mechanic with the roll of yellow stickers. They're quaint, but they're not staying.

I think the brake levers are for a BMX.

Nerdy guests will note this grip is on the wrong end of the bar. But then you'd have to quibble over why a touring bike's got a mountain bar anyway, and how'd the mechanic find a quill road stem that fits an oversize bar, and then you'd ask me whether both brake levers are right-handed, and I'd have to say yes.
